Brian Mushana Kwesiga
Brian Mushana Kwesiga is a Ugandan-born entrepreneur, engineer, and civic leader serving as Co-Chair of the 2026 BKI Convention in the Washington DC Area.
He is the Founder & CEO of the eHub Group, LLC, a Maryland-based enterprise advancing diaspora-led trade, investment, and digital commerce - including the Uganda Waragi import initiative, promoting a “Trade, Not Aid” model connecting Ugandan producers to global markets.
He previously chaired the 25th Annual UNAA Convention & Trade Expo in Dallas, Texas, and went on to serve as President & CEO of the Ugandan North American Association (UNAA), presiding over two national conventions. Brian has also served as a Treasurer and on the board of the East Africa Chamber of Commerce (EACC), what is now the East Africa Business Network (EABN).
He has over 15 years of experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry and holds a master’s degree in systems engineering from Southern Methodist University and a Master of Global Business Administration from The Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University.
He belongs to the Abayombo sub-clan, of the Bagahe clan (Bagahe Beene Kiyombo kya Muhimbura)
Brenda Nangasha Demers
Fondly known as Akatama, Brenda serves as the Co-Chair and Secretary of the 4th Annual Banyankore Kweterana International (BKI) Convention and attended the two previously BKI conventions; Boston 2024, and Austin 2025.
She currently works as a Senior Human Resources professional with Bucks County, Pennsylvania, specializing in employee training, labor negotiations, hiring processes, and disciplinary administration.
A dynamic leader with multi-sector expertise, Brenda brings extensive experience in marketing, sales, and project management. She is also a highly skilled tourism consultant, backed by her academic training in Tourism and Hospitality from Makerere University. Her versatile background and people-centered leadership continue to elevate organizational performance both in the U.S. and Uganda.
She belongs to the Abahinda clan.
Kosea A. Hindi
As the head of the 2026 BKI Marketing, PR, and Entertainment Committees, Kosea brings a rare blend of technical precision and creative mastery.
By day, he serves as a CCTV Instrumentation Technician II with the Projects and Assets Branch under the Wastewater Collection Division of the Department of Public Works and Environmental Services, Fairfax County, Virginia.
By night (and most weekends), he switches gears into his long-standing passion - DJ’ing, a craft he has honed for over 20 years across Uganda and the United States.
His track record includes:
• Serving as a DJ for countless corporate and private events across the diaspora community and in Uganda
• Being part of the UNAA 2024 Convention DJ team in Washington, D.C.
• Headlining as the Main DJ for the 2025 3rd Annual BKI Convention in Austin, Texas
• DJ’ing at high-profile diplomatic events hosted by the Embassy of Uganda, the Embassy of Tanzania, and the Embassy of Burkina Faso in Washington, D.C.
Beyond music, Kosea is also an entrepreneur, running a graphics and design business that serves clients across the diaspora and beyond, bringing creativity, branding clarity, and production quality to organizations and events.
He hails from the Abaitira sub-clan of the Bahinda clan.
Patience Julianne Kanyamunyu Kaijuka
Patience serves as the official hotel liaison for the 4th Annual BKI Convention.
With more than 20 years of progressive experience in hotel management, marketing, and public relations, Patience brings unmatched operational expertise and hospitality insight to the planning team.
She received her professional training in Hotel Management from the University of Brighton in the United Kingdom. Patience is widely respected for her attention to detail, negotiation skills, and deep understanding of the global hospitality industry.
She belongs to the Abasasira sub-clan of the Bashambo clan, and she’s a mwihwa wa Abashegyi (maternal clan)
Carol K. Rutega
Carol is a dedicated tourism and business professional with extensive experience in hospitality management, hotel operations, and event planning. Her hands-on expertise spans customer service, guest experience, and operational coordination across diverse hospitality settings.
Carol is a passionate community advocate and cultural enthusiast who thrives on bringing people together to celebrate shared heritage, creativity, and tradition. Her interests include arts, culture, travel, storytelling, and promoting local experiences that highlight the richness of Banyankore identity.
She belongs to the Bahinda clan.
Sandra Najuna
Sandra serves on the Organizing Committee for the 4th Annual BKI Convention as the Programs & Forums Chair.
She is a National Director with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation and a long-standing champion of community health and cultural preservation. She holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Southern California and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Public Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Sandra has played a pivotal role in the growth of BKI, having helped organize, and personally attended, all previous conventions: Los Angeles (2023), Boston (2024), and Austin (2025).
She belongs to the abahira sub-clan of the Bashambo clan, and is passionate about mobilizing communities, strengthening diaspora networks, and promoting health equity across borders.
Gloria Atwine Katuuku
Gloria Atwine Katuuku serves as BKI 2026’s Ambassador to Uganda, representing the Convention’s interests and building high-level partnerships across government, private sector, and community institutions.
She is currently the Director of Planning, Research, and Development at the National Information Technology Authority (NITA) Uganda, where she leads strategic initiatives shaping the country’s digital transformation.
Gloria holds a degree from La Roche University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and an MBA from Amity University in Delhi, India. Her blend of international education, public-sector leadership, and diaspora networks makes her a key bridge between Uganda and the global Banyankore community.
Sam Nyindombi Karahukayo
Sam is an accomplished IT leader with over 20 years of experience in delivering enterprise-level technology solutions.
He currently serves as the Director of Information Technology for the Clinical Research Office at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, where he leads systems implementation, digital transformation, and strategic technology modernization.
Sam specializes in optimizing information systems that improve operational efficiency, strengthen security, and enhance organizational performance. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for designing scalable, future-ready solutions that align technology with business strategy.
He holds a Master of Science in Information Systems - Data Science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
He hails from the Abaishikatwa clan and is an omwihwa wa’ Abakimbiri sub-clan of the Bahinda (maternal clan)
Gloria Nalule McLaughlin
Gloria Nalule McLaughlin is an international development and public policy specialist. She holds a Master of Management of Development from Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, a master’s degree in Economic Development from Kyung Hee University in South Korea, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Makerere University.
Gloria is an international development and public policy expert, her work spans migration and development, particularly diaspora engagement; and sexual and reproductive health. Gloria is also the founder of the Uganda Diaspora Think Tank, a platform that mobilizes Ugandan professionals across the globe to contribute to national development.
She is of mixed heritage, half Munyankore and half Muganda, and was born and raised in Mbarara District from the Abaitira clan
Kwame is a Farmer and Businessman.
He spends time between Washington DC in the United States and Kazo in Mbarara, Uganda. He is the BKI 2026 Liaison.
